Chapter Four - Telnet Access - F-Secure SSH
Software: F-Secure SSH Version 1.x from Data Fellows

Authenfication: RSA and Password
Instructions:
- Log into your account control panel and select the SSH Icon. If you
recieve a prompt that your account is not SSH enabled, please follow
the instructions for having Studio Braun Support set that up for you.
- Once SSH has been enabled, the SSH manager will be displayed. Keep
this screen open for later user.
- Download F-Secure
SSH Version 1.x from Data Fellows and follow installation instructions.
Please note: The F-Secure SSH Version
2.x clients are not supported by our servers at this time.
- Launch the F-Secure application.
- The first time you run the F-Secure program an RSA Key Generation
Wizard may automaically run. If it does not, skip this step. When prompted
you can enter a passphrase and comment that will be displayed each time
you log in. Use RSA key length of 1024 bits.
- Create a new connection profile:
- Protocol = SSH
- Hostname = yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
- Port = 22
- Username = Your Account User Name
- Cipher = 3DES
- Authentification = You can select password or RSA. The 30 day
trial version may only support password. If you select password
go to step 8,
for RSA go to step
7.
- RSA Authentification: In your SSH Manager in
your account control panel input your RSA key that was generated by
the RSA Key Generation Wizard in the specified text box. This should
be in a file called something like identity.pub in the same directory
as you installed F-Secure or other location you specified. Open this
file in a text editor and copy and paste the contents into your control
panel. Be sure not to change anything when you copy the key, if anything
is changed, your key will not work. Proceed to step
9.
- Password Authentification: Select the option
to use Password as the authentification type. In your SSH Manager in
your account control panel you can leave the text area on the SSH manager
where you are prompted for the RSA key blank. Proceed to step
9.
- Click on "Submit" in your SSH Manager.
- On the following screen in your SSH Manager, input your access addresses.
These will be the domain(s) of your ISP, i.e. *.earthlink.net, *.mindspring.com
or your static IP address (DSL). Submit these changes.
- Wait about 10 minutes for the changes to take affect and then you
may log in using the profile you created in F-Secure SSH above to your
account. If you chose to use RSA Authentification you will prompted
to enter the passphrase you selected during the RSA key generation process.
If you chose to use Password Authentification, you will be prompted
for your Account Password.
