Please note: The F-Secure SSH Version 2.x clients are not supported by our servers at this time.

  4. Launch the F-Secure application.

  5. The first time you run the F-Secure program an RSA Key Generation Wizard may automaically run. If it does not, skip this step. When prompted you can enter a passphrase and comment that will be displayed each time you log in. Use RSA key length of 1024 bits.

  6. Create a new connection profile:
    • Protocol = SSH
    • Hostname = yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
    • Port = 22
    • Username = Your Account User Name
    • Cipher = 3DES
    • Authentification = You can select password or RSA. The 30 day trial version may only support password. If you select password go to step 8, for RSA go to step 7.

  7. RSA Authentification: In your SSH Manager in your account control panel input your RSA key that was generated by the RSA Key Generation Wizard in the specified text box. This should be in a file called something like identity.pub in the same directory as you installed F-Secure or other location you specified. Open this file in a text editor and copy and paste the contents into your control panel. Be sure not to change anything when you copy the key, if anything is changed, your key will not work. Proceed to step 9.
  8. Password Authentification: Select the option to use Password as the authentification type. In your SSH Manager in your account control panel you can leave the text area on the SSH manager where you are prompted for the RSA key blank. Proceed to step 9.
  9. Click on "Submit" in your SSH Manager.
  10. On the following screen in your SSH Manager, input your access addresses. These will be the domain(s) of your ISP, i.e. *.earthlink.net, *.mindspring.com or your static IP address (DSL). Submit these changes.
  11. Wait about 10 minutes for the changes to take affect and then you may log in using the profile you created in F-Secure SSH above to your account. If you chose to use RSA Authentification you will prompted to enter the passphrase you selected during the RSA key generation process. If you chose to use Password Authentification, you will be prompted for your Account Password.
