Chapter Four - Telnet Access - SSH32 For Windows

Software: SSH32 For Windows
Operating Systems: Windows 95/98/NT
Type of Software: Free
Authenfication: Password

Instructions:

  1. Log into your account control panel and select the SSH Icon. If you recieve a prompt that your account is not SSH enabled, please follow the instructions for having Studio Braun Support set that up for you.

  2. Once SSH has been enabled, the SSH manager will be displayed. To use SSH32 for Windows, you do not need to generate an RSA key. Leave the text area on the SSH manager where you are prompted for the RSA key blank and hit "Submit".

  3. On the following screen, input your access addresses. These will be the domain(s) of your ISP, i.e. *.earthlink.net, *.mindspring.com or your static IP address (DSL).

  4. Download SSH 32-bit (rev. 2.x) and crypl110.zip (cryptographic library package).

  5. Extract the contents of "ssh3299054.zip" (or current revision) into a directory on where you wish to install SSH32 (ex. c:\ssh32).

  6. Extract the contents of "crypl110.zip" (cryptographic library package) into the same directory you installed SSH32.

  7. The first time you run SSH32, you will be given a welcome screen. Click the OK button to continue. Next you will be prompted to select a cryptographic library. In the "File Name" box, type in "crypt32.dll" and click the Open button.

  8. Make a New Connection.
    • Host Name = yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
    • User ID = Your Account User Name
    • Port = 22
    • Cipher Type = 3DES
    • Authentification Type = Password (Uncheck RSA)
    • Defaults for all other paramters.

  9. You can choose to accept the key from your host domain.

  10. When prompted, enter Your Account Password to log in to your account.
