Another example of split-toned black and white originating from a colour image. Starting with a colour image provides more information
and post exposure control For example, this image simulates the addition of a medium red filter on the lens while using black and white film. Shooting this in colour allows the application of the red filter after film development (and therefore allows one to make subtle changes in the qualities of the filter and the resulting image.) In order to accomplish this flexibility in the field with traditional methods, one would have to shoot the scene repetitively while mounting filters with varying properties.
